about

A two-hour journey into the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It is a fusion of Black Metal and Medieval Folk with the exclusive use of musical instruments from the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
Two discs of pure darkness, sacred, drunken tavern and golden chambers of castles!

The first disc is medieval folk black metal influenced by Ars subtilior from Chantilly Codex.
A combination of sacredness and musty old taverns, where they sing and dance, stately castles and palaces, where knights sing songs to their ladies. But darkness consumes everything, and the screaming demons do not sleep!

The second disc is a renaissance poetic tale of great knights and kings, venerable ladies and valiant victories. Combined with music from 1551, Het derde musyck boexken ... alderhande danserye and Lovidalf's own ambient works.

Troubadours:
Lovidalf Ranemmak VI - Lutes (archlute, medieval lute, theorbo) gittern, citole, medieval harp, viele, rebec, chalemie, shawm, flutes, vocals
Jean-Maurice Meyer - Drums (bass, daf, nakers, frame, tabor, bells & crotals) & tambourine
Bartelot - Medieval brass & woodwinds (trompette, curtal, crumhorns, recorders, flutes, bagpipes) hurdy gurdy, vocals

In the recording of the album, both real medieval instruments and samples VST were used.

Huge gratitude to Auguste Onu for his support and donation for most of the medieval instruments, as well as special thanks to Thomann for their magnificent medieval electric lute!
